In the news - gossip, secrets, drugs and funny business

Well, how refreshing to see something in the news today that was not negative. Or was it? Well, in 2008 Prince Harry was withdrawn from Afghanistan after an Australian woman's magazine reported on his deployment and it was subsequently reported around the world by the media.

Any who, today I saw a blurb about Prince Harry. Captain Wales as he is known in the Army Air Corps has completed his Apache training. Evidently it was stated on www.dailytelegraph.com.au that he will join a unit that has "the highest kill rate" in Afghanistan. Guess that narrows it down a bit, don't you think. Will he even get to go this time? Who knows.

On to bigger things, so 15 TONS of Mehamphetamine Seized in Mexico in addition to 5 tons of crystal and 7 tons of precursor chemicals. That is a whole lot of Meth!

Guess what? The secret here is no actual arrests were reported. Really?? How unusual! Additionally, the police admitted they had an anonymous tip from a local resident leading to the seizure. I am pretty sure they don't realize how they have just endangered every one of the local residents. Since more than 47,000 people have died in Mexico in the last 5 years due to drug related trafficking and this amount equates to half of all the seizures in 2009, this appears to be a really big haul and someone is going to be pissed!

Incidentally, this connects to the US in that drug trafficking from Mexico has increased exponentially in the last 5 years since President Filipe Calderon took office. I thought he had launched an offensive against drug gangs. Five years, one great coup, great running average Filipe!

Guess what? I like my news a little irreverent and want to share with you what is probably the hottest video on U-Tube today. It has gotten more than 1.8 million hits/views in 2 days. Admittedly, I watched it and irreverent or not it is absolutely outrageously a giggle-fest.

OK, so I am twisted too. Watch it and let me know what you think. I actually preferred this to what is hot in the regular news and definitely over what is hot in the world of celebrity news.

Guess what? as far as Yahoo! is concerned today both a purple squirrel and Ellen DeGeneres (JC Penney's spokesperson) verses "one MILLION moms" (a conservative group) are trending at the top of the list as of midnight Feb 9th, 2012. I checked their gossip strip and their what is trending today links and did not find any of the stories I listed here, even though all were hot in the last few hours as far as the rest of the internet was concerned.

It all comes down to where you go for your information/gossip as to what you will find. So what does all this have to do with gossip and secrets? I just wanted to share my views, i.e. slant, on today's hot topics. How superfluous is that? Eh?
